Biography and Artist's Statement
I am a sculptor and craftsperson, working with metal, paper, and fibre. I like to combine seemingly disparate materials and ideas and try to make them work in a harmonious and interesting way. For example, I have created large metal sculptures that are light and airy which change the viewer's preconceived notions about metal. These disparate materials and concepts come together in my artwork to create balance.
I am currently completing my Honours Bachelor of Art in Studio Art at McMaster University. I plan to continue with art in a way that combines my love of utilitarian craft and conceptual, thought-provoking art. Look out for things wrapped and woven with metal wire. When I'm not making art, you can find me crocheting up cozy things made out of luxurious fibers.
