Signifiance and Impact
The success of the event changed attitudes about what computers could be used for on an individual basis and more personal level, people moved past the idea that computers were isolated machines merely capable of talking one-on-one to other computers. It made the idea of vast internet networks imaginable, as well as making acceptable the idea of live webcast productions into conventional internet society. Suddenly it was conceivable to imagine that one could watch entire concerts from the comfort of one's home, and many bands were excited at the prospect of being able to perform for fans in countries they had been previously unable to perform for due to geography (such as the more remote parts of Canada), politics (such as China) or merely financial inadequacy.
