Though SCM has since faded from the public eye and no longer exists as a viable music entity, having broken up in 1999 after eight albums, they have forever left their mark on both the music industry and the online world. Without bands such as Sky Cries Mary, who were daring and avid enough to try these new technologies, people might never have realized the potential for mass communication that the internet possesses. It is interesting to note that to date, online concerts have largely remained free for viewing to anyone who had the software and hardware able to handle the video feed. Perhaps in the future, as methods for improving sound quality and picture size are refined, the possibility of an industry similar to Pay-Per-View will become a popular alternative to actually attending concerts in person.
